The fact that the alleged “criminal case” and legal proceedings instituted against former FM of Armenia Alexander Arzumanyan have political reasons has been clear since he was arrested. This established fact was proven yesterday too after Mr. Arzumanyan was set free from the national security office despite the court decision to prolong the term of his arrest without any explanation. Yesterday RA general prosecutor Aghvan Hovsepyan, in fact, confessed that Arzumanyan had been arrested by the order of the authorities. “I didn’t think it necessary any more to keep Arzumanyan under arrest,” said Aghvan Hovsepyan yesterday, directly showing that Arzumanyan’s “case” was based on necessity only (he continues to be a defendant and was set free based on his signature not to leave the city). This necessity has political reasons.
