The rumors concerning the murder of the general public prosecutor of Lori region, Albert Ghazaryan in Vanadzor city are changing their priority.
Before the funeral of the prosecutor the citizens of Vanadzor were connecting the crime with the activities of former governor of Lori Henrik Kochinyan and the existing mayor of Vanadzor Samvel Darbinyan, but now these versions are not so essential with their priority. To note, currently a criminal case concerning the financial machinations in the drainage cleaning plant of Vanadzor city is being investigated by the prosecutor’s office of Lori region. The prosecutor’s office has found out that the tubes have been stolen by the permit of Henrik Kochinyan, and now they are in “Argishti” LLC, which belongs to the brother of Samvel Darbinyan. Following the murder there were rumors that the crime had been ordered by Kochinyan and Darbinyan. There were rumors that the prosecutor wanted to investigate their machinations and bring a case, thus they decided to punish him. However, this version does not seem very possible. People in Vanadzor knew that there was tension in the relations between Ghazaryan, Darbinyan and Kochinyan. In such conditions it was clear that mainly these two people would be suspected in the crime. On the one hand, this version seems very simple as Darbinyan and Kochinyan would guess that if they did that, they would be the first ones to be suspected. On the other hand, our sources from the prosecutor’s office inform that during the recent years the general public prosecutor’s office has received numerous complaints against Kochinyan and Darbinyan from ordinary citizens and officials. The general public prosecutor’s office sent those compliants to the regional prosecutor’s office of Lori region to get rid off such compliants. A. Ghazaryan decided to institute legal proceedings, but was told by top officials to stop that process. According to our information, the prosecutor refused and said that it was impossible to cover all those things. They say that the police has questioned all officials having any relationship with Ghazaryan. Notwithstanding, Kochinyan has told us that he hasn’t been questioned. The citizens of Vanadzor say that it is too strange since they have questioned the mayor, Samvel Darbinyan. Our sources of information say that despite the fact that Kochinyan does not have a position, he is backed by the authorities. He has promised to use his tools and contacts with the community heads in that region to support the reproduction of the authorities during the upcoming presidential elections.
However, it seems that the rumors connecting Kochinyan and Darbinyan with the crime are giving place to another version connected with “the case of wood”. There have been many press coverages that during many years several army generals have been doing wood business in this region. Accordingly, Ghazaryan decided to institute legal proceedings connected with the illegal tree felling and “backed businesses”. According to our information, the rumors concern the following generals: Levon Eranosyan, Manvel Grigoryan and Arshaluys Paytyan. We asked the “Armforest” organization to find out what kind of cases have been launched in the recent period connected with tree felling and what kind of such illegal cases have been discovered and whether this organization has been actively collaborating with the prosecutor’s office of Lori region.
“Yes, we have collaborated and this cooperation has been success”, said the director of “Armforest”, Martun Matevosyan.
Mr. Matevosyan also informed us about the cases they had discovered such as fire in the forests of Odzun, the cases of Djilzah, Dsekh and Ayrum. We were told about the same cases by the investigation department chief of Lori region, Gagik Israyelyan, who refuted the information that there had been any cases concerning large scale tree felling. As for Mr. Matevosyan, he said that the information claiming that the Armenian generals were involved in wood business was nonsense. “We have just collaborated with the police of the region and closed wood reproduction factories, which were using trees illegally. However, there haven’t been large scale illegal tree felling”, said Mr. Matevosyan.
As for the RA general public prosecutor’s office, it doesn’t inform any details concerning the cases investigated under the supervision of Lori regional prosecutor’s office reasoning that at this moment it may harm the process of investigating the murder of Ghazaryan.
Now the situation in Vanadzor seems to be case emergency. Our sources inform that the police detains all those men, who are fair-haired and have Slavonic appearance. Before dying Albert Ghazaryan said that the killer was fair-haired. They say that the police is searching everywhere; shops, saunas, restaurants, bars and detains every man who is fair-haired.
Certainly, these are just versions only. Also, one of the versions is that prosecutor Albert Ghazaryan was not objective in his work and it is possible that someone has avenged.
