To be sold at $86mln

The transaction of selling Ararat Gold Recovery Company (AGRC) may finish at the end of September month of this year. According to the official information of the company’s web page, the buyer is the Russian “Production Investors” company. Indian “Vedanta Resources” company, which is the owner of AGRC, informs that that 82,4% of the company’s shares will be transferred to Georgian company “Madneuli quartzite”, which is a subsidiary of the mentioned Russian company. Definitely, the transaction amount will be $86mln. To note, on August 2 deputy to the general public prosecutor of Armenia, Gagik Jhangiryan filed a case to the Economic court asking to untimely terminate the agreement between the mentioned company and the Armenian government. According to the RA government, the Indian company is providing with false information concerning its investments and obligations to the mines. The court had to consider the case on August 20, which didn’t proceed due to the fact that neither the claimant nor the respondent were present.
