The “Clean Arabkir” sanitary cleaning company of the Arabkir district already has nearly 40 garbage disposal, snow-cleaning, and water-spraying trucks, but that is not enough to provide full service to the district.
Hovhannes Shahinyan, head of the Arabkir district, recently returned from Scotland, where he had met with the administration of the world-famous “Green Machine” company, including director of sales and technical issues Peter Mannoch, Director of Management Gordon Fleming, and exporting manager Selia Norton. “The Green Machine” produces machines well-known throughout Europe, which are foreseen for streets for pedestrians and for the cleaning of sidewalks. They are special vacuums that are able to function any time of the year. The heads of the countries, cities, and business corporations using those machines name them “small green monsters”. Despite their small size, those machines provide the best result for the cleaning of the streets. In fact, thanks to their small size, they can be used at any hour of the day without disturbing the people. Those vacuum machines don’t miss any plastic or glass wastes.
The “Small Green Monsters” are widely used in France, England, Austria, Singapore and many developed European countries. Those machines are even used to clean the area near the residency of the Queen of England. Many businesses such as hotel complexes, resorts, airports, and factories acquire those machines to get rid of trash and dust. “The Green Machine” company has received more than 500 machine orders from Iran, India and Russia. Many cities wish to have those machines, but not everyone can have them because the prices for those machines (not counting the transportation costs for transfer) range from 25-60,000 Euros. Of course, along with the acquisition of the machines comes the issue concerning the retraining of the corresponding experts for the right use (and the company mentions that demand as a necessary condition, because in the case of incorrect use they may not get the best result and the company may lose its reputation).
Hovhannes Shahinyan has purchased four machines to clean the four main avenues. The “Green Machines” are already on the way, and will be in Armenia by the end of August. By the beginning of September, the representatives of the company will also visit Armenia with their corresponding experts with the purpose of presenting their company’s machines, meet with local experts, and discuss issues concerning future cooperation with the Arabkir district administration. Through the efforts of Shahinyan, the Arabkir district head, the “Clean Arabkir” company will receive another four machines – three garbage disposal trucks and one street cleaning and water-spraying German “Man” brand-name machine.
By the way, the “Reno” brand-name winter salt-spraying machines of the French company based in Plesi-Robinson will soon arrive in Yerevan. So, the Arabkir district will have ten machines produced in Europe.
During his working visit, Shahinyan met with the Secretary General of the UMP (Union of the Popular Movement party headed by French president Nikola Sarkozy) and deputy P. Deyevjyan, president of the General Council of the Hauts-de-Seine region. The latter is a rather large and influential politician in French politics and one of the closest friends of French President Sarkozy. The initiative for the meeting was taken by deputy mayor of Plesi-Robinson, Zhak Perin. Let us recall that the Arabkir district and Plesi-Robinson are sister cities, which cooperate fully. Plesi Robinson is one of the cities of the Hauts-de-Seine region. During the meeting, Deyevjyan and Shahinyan discussed issues connected with the cooperation between the cities and future plans. In his turn, Perin presented all of the programs that have been implemented with the Arabkir district of Yerevan, mentioning that the cooperation between Arabkir and Plesi-Robinson and the cooperation between the two countries is the best example. He also told about the opening ceremony of the “Armenia” square that was opened in Plesi-Robinson during the Armenian culture days in France, with the participation of well-known Armenian singers. Let us mention that in October the delegation of Plesi-Robinson will visit Armenia.
