On Monday, the RA Constitutional Court began the examination of the 18-A challenge of the May 17 vote in the 36th precinct under the majoritarian system of the National Assembly elections. The case is being challenged based on the application of Mushegh Saghatelyan, candidate for deputy under the majoritarian system in the Shirak (Artik) regional precinct. Speaker Zinavor Ghukasyan presented the arguments of the applicant and mentioned that according to Saghatelyan, the requirements stated in the 61st article of the RA Electoral Code were violated in many of the 59 polling stations of the 36th precinct. There are a total of 9632 violations mentioned in the proposal, with 134 based on the records of the Precinct Electoral Commission; so, the difference of the votes of the latter recordings exceeds 1898. Let us mention that Mkhitar Varagyan of the 36th precinct received 14,841 votes and was declared National Assembly deputy. The other candidate was Mushegh Petrosyan, with 13,661 votes, while applicant Mushegh Saghatelyan received 7107 votes.
