Yesterday the former governor of the Shirak region, Romik Manukyan, had a meeting with the regional management board staff, where he introduced the new acting governor, Michael Vardanyan, who had been working as deputy governor before that. According to Mankukyan, Michael Vardanyan was appointed as acting governor by his recommendation; as for the future governor, the former governor said that he thought the next holder of that position “would be a person with a real governmental way of thinking and would be accepted by people”. To note, before holding that office, Vardanyan was the mayor of Gyumri and the regional coordinator of ARP headquarters in Gyumri.
