President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliev, is not against having Russia and the U.S. jointly use the radar station of Gabala. This is what was stated in the Japanese “Nikkey” newspaper on Friday.
“When I received the offer from President Putin for the joint use of the radar, I immediately gave a positive response, because that will serve as a basis for co-operation with both the U.S. and Russia. That decision is based on long-term strategic interests,” mentioned Aliev.
According to “ITAR-TASS”, Aliev has affirmed that “that will not bring up issues concerning Iran because it does not refer to the allocation of foreign armed forces.”
