There will be 720-millimeter diameter pipes imported to Armenia with the purpose of stretching the gas/transport network. According to head of the public relations department of the “ArmRusGazard” joint-stock company, during the meeting of the suppliers and expeditors the deputy director of the company, Tigran Khachatryan, mentioned that 85 wagons (1700 tons) of pipes have already been transported to Armenia and stored. It is foreseen to import another 26,000 tons of pipes by the end of the year. Executive director of the tube factory of Chelyabinsk, Pavel Peliugin, assured that their products correspond to international standards and are delivered to different countries of the world; in the meantime, Armenia is the only country in the South Caucasus that receives huge orders. In the administrative building of “ArmRusGazard”, “GazProm, “GazExport”,”Caucastransgas” and representatives of Georgian natural gas transport companies participated in the discussion on the process of natural gas transportation. During the consultation the issues were the sometimes-unpredictable tendencies in the regimes for natural gas consummation in the winter in Armenia and Georgia, which creates difficulties in the securing of supply, as well as the issue concerning the exploitation of natural gas pipelines. “ArmRusGazard” proposed observing the issue concerning the volumes of the natural gas storage of Abovyan, which help regulate the regimes of the natural gas transport system of Georgia.
