They burned the door of the PPA member

31/05/2007

On the night of May 28, a group of anonymous people burnt the front door of the apartment of member of the People’s Party of Armenia and deputy candidate nominated under the majoritarian system in the 31st precinct of Lori Marz, Larisa Paremuzyan. Mrs. Paremuzyan had managed to call her neighbors for help and put out the fire. Due to the heavy smoke, the neighbors in the top floors of the building weren’t able to come down and help the woman, who was alone. Paremuzyan evaluated the event as a political settlement. On May 12, she managed to gather and record nearly 6600 electoral violations in the 31st precinct of Lori Marz. Three days ago she appealed to the prosecutor’s office of Lori, and some records of the polling stations were supposed to be opened on May 28th. The Tumanyan territorial division of the Police of Lori Marz has brought up a criminal case under the 1st part of the 2nd subtext of article 185 of the Penal Code regarding the purposeful destruction of property. The office of the Helsinki Committee of Vanadzor is following-up on the case and head of the committee Arthur Sakunts evaluated the event as a terrorist act.
