Recently, deputy to the U.S. Department of State on Europe and Eurasia issues Daniel Frid said during a discussion on the “Russia today” topic organized by the Helsinki commission, “I visited the region last year with my Russian and French colleagues of the OSCE MG for the purpose of helping the peaceful negotiations and presenting the main principles suggested for a peaceful settlement to the presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia. Those main principles are the key of the negotiations now too,” said Frid. “By confessing that the main responsibility lies on Armenia and Azerbaijan, we are showing that Russia and the U.S.A. can work together to support the peaceful settlement, which may strengthen stability and security in the Southern Caucasus, which is in our best interests.”
