Samvel Balasanyan, elected deputy nominated by the “Legal State” political party under the majoritarian electoral system in the 35th precinct (Gyumri), doesn’t want to work in the “Legal State” parliamentary faction for the next five years and has filed corresponding appeals to his political party and head of the Central Electoral Commission.
But Arthur Baghdasaryan is out of town, and deputy head of the “Legal State” party Heghine Bisharyan has been forced to comment on the appeal filed by the former head of the “Legal State” parliamentary faction.
“Balasanyan had a high rating in the party. He was head of the faction and he shouldn’t have done what he did,” Bisharyan told “A1Plus”, adding: “Some people dropped out before the elections to get elected (referring to Hakob Hakobyan {Beer Hakob} who was elected in the 41st precinct but had dropped out of “Legal State” a couple of days before the elections), some people left after the elections perhaps because they had promised to leave if elected, and in essence this is one of those cases.”
Bisharyan had this to say when reminded that there had been rumors about Balasanyan leaving “Legal State” months before the elections:
“Armenia is living in 1937 and those who have opportunities to earn money and have their businesses create a situation where people are led not by their morality, consciousness and soul, rather by the principle of keeping their belongings.”
In response to the question as to whether it was possible that there has been a conflict between Balasanyan and Arthur Baghdasaryan, Bisharyan said:
“I don’t think that there has been any conflict in general. There has been a discussion among political party members, but nothing serious.”
In the administrative session that Balasanyan had participated, according to Bisharyan, the members of the administration congratulated Balasanyan with applause, for being elected under the majoritarian system.
“The administration session went well, at least for him. But after that he filed an application to leave the political party,” complained Bisharyan.
If things go at this rate, it is not excluded that Arthur Baghdasaryan may also file an application to leave “Legal State” soon.
