On Saturday the CEC of Armenia finalized the outcome of the parliamentary elections of May 12. Thus, according to the CEC, the overall number of voters that took part in the elections is 1,391,540 (60% of the voters). The CEC of Armenia informs that ARP was given 458,258 votes and thus will have 41 deputies in the parliament elected under proportional system. Second place is filled by the “Prosperous Armenia” party, with 204,483 votes, thus it will have 18 deputies in the parliament elected under proportional system. ARF received 177,907 votes and claims third place with 16 deputies in the parliament. “Legal State” was given 95,324 votes and will have 8 deputies in the parliament elected under proportional system. “Heritage” party participated in the elections and got 81,048 votes, thus it will have 7 mandates in the parliament. The representatives of “Justice” bloc, “NU” and “LS” parties in the CEC refused to sign under the final protocols of the voting results. Also, a decision was made to register the deputies elected under majoritarian system. Twenty-three elected deputies out of the 41 candidates elected under the majoritarian system were supported by ARP, 7 were supported by “Prosperous Armenia”, one candidate was supported by “LS” party and one candidate by the “Dashink” bloc. The opposition powers are going to apply to the Constitutional court in this matter.
