“These elections are not the victory of the government but the failure of the opposition,” reads yesterday’s announcement by the NDP. According to the NDP, the main reason of the failure is that the main oppositional forces were not able to unite and offer an alternative to the government. “The approach of just opposing everything doesn’t work any more. That’s the reason quality changes don’t take place in Armenia. Our party was not able to present itself as a real alternative to the government because it was alone and didn’t have sufficient resources,” says NDP chairman Shavarsh Kocharyan.
