What if violated?

“Any potential violations during the upcoming elections will affect the reputation of Armenia, the Armenian people, and the political powers very much,” FM Vardan Oskanyan said yesterday in his interview given to “Azatutyun” radio station, while meeting with OSCE MG co-chairs in Strasbourg. “The trust in Armenia may be lost this time since this time the shock will not be only moral. The pre-election campaign period significantly differed from that of the previous elections. Everyone agrees that after that positive achievement, it will be a pity to make violations, which will bury that good achievement and have a negative affect on our reputation,” said the foreign affairs minister. “It will not be an exaggeration if I say that all the European countries are attentively following the elections in Armenia. Everyone expects that we will organize free and transparent elections, which will differ much from the previous ones. I know that this is what people in Europe expect. Our future prosperity depends on the fairness of these elections,” said the minister. He also said that the OSCE MG co-chairs intend to activate the process of negotiations following the elections in Armenia. “They want to visit Armenia before the visit of the Spanish FM, who currently is the OSCE chair too; they may visit after that too. All these efforts will be targeted to organizing a new possible meeting of the presidents. The possible meeting of the presidents will depend on the factual content of the possible developments that we may have,” said Oskanyan.
