Recently, Armenian mass media published information according to which the Armenian Progressive Party had dropped out of the election campaign for the Republican Party and had transferred a list of 20,000 signatures of voters and passport information. This was the announcement made by Tigran Urikhanyan, leader of the Progressive Party. Member of the Central Electoral Commission, Felix Khachatryan, has proposed checking this information and finding out how that list was formed.
“I suppose that this is a classic example of corruption,” he said.
In response to the question as to how the list was formed, Deputy Prosecutor General of Armenia Gevorg Danielyan said on Monday that there can be no criminal case brought up on the basis of an assumption.
