“I am announcing the contents of the secret negotiations since the Armenian side is distorting the real content and agreements in the negotiations; particularly, they are saying that there is an agreement to hand back five regions, which is not true. We have been suggested that, but we refused; thus we have already agreed upon the seven regions,” Azeri president Ilham Aliev said yesterday and added, “The Armenian side is misinforming their society on the threshold of the parliamentary elections, thus I have to reveal the facts about the contents of the negotiations.” Yesterday Serge Sargsyan refuted what Aliev had said. “It is not true,” Sargsyan said to “Azatutyun” radio station, “Eeryone knows that we have certain principles and those principles have not changed.” Sargsyan also said that he doesn’t know what the real goal of those announcements are. Furthermore, NA vice speaker Vahan Hovhannisyan says that Aliyev is ”lying”. RA Foreign Affairs ministry spokesman Vladimir Karapetyan has neither approved nor refuted the announcements of the Azeri president. ”This is not the first time that Aliyev is trying to reveal the contents of the negotiations. I can only say that this time again there are no new revelations. As before, I am restating again that our policy standing is based on the principle of recognizing Karabakh’s right for self-determination.”
