“Georgia is a very important country for us and I’d not say that our relationship with them is problematic,” said Serge Sargsyan in his interview given to “Nezavisimaya Gazeta” newspaper. “This is the only country that is connecting us with the external world through its territory; most of the cargo is transported through its territory and any negative change in Georgia may be negative for us too.” He also said that Armenia is interested in developing good relations with Georgia. “I believe this is how it will be. For instance, if the Georgian government has decided to be integrated in NATO, we will accept their decision respectfully and we hope it will not affect Armenia’s security and Georgian-Armenian relations.”
