“The statement in the previous version of the U.S. State Department report was not correct. In consideration of the current phase of the Karabakh conflict negotiations, it was our mistake,” assistant to the secretary of the Department of State, MG co-chair Matthew Bryza said yesterday. “Currently we are in a phase when the parties are negotiating on the future status of Nagorno Karabakh. We can’t foresee the outcome of the negotiations. We are accepting that it is our mistake and are correcting it,” said Bryza. Concerning the rumor that he made that announcement because of Diaspora pressure, Bryza said that this was not true. He said that corrections are made in the State Department reports very rarely and added, “But currently we are in a specific phase of the NKR conflict negotiations.”
