They persuaded

Frank Pallone and Joseph Knollenberg, co-presidents on Armenian Issues of the U.S. Congress, have sent a letter to U.S. President George Bush persuading him to reaffirm the position of the U.S. in his annual April 24 address and call the crimes committed against the Armenians as “genocide”.

“The United States must never allow crimes against humanity to go unpunished and be forgotten,” as stated in the letter. “It is an exigency to pay tribute to the memory of the people who suffered, as well as to never forget the past.”

Let us recall that F. Pallone and J. Knollenberg have organized an event dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide to be held on April 24 at Capitol Hill.
