Yesterday the head of “Photolur” agency, Herbert Baghdasaryan, passed away at night (aged 69). He was a person that contributed his talent in Armenian history, took many photos, and always did his work with pleasure. Baghdasaryan was a wonderful person, a very good citizen, and a good professional; he liked beauty and always appreciated honesty. He was a man that can be considered as someone that was a gift to our days. Herbert Baghdasaryan was well-educated, had good knowledge and could always answer questions and describe people very correctly. He was very scrupulous with his photos and with words. He managed the photo archives of the Soviet times as well as current news photo coverage. He could still do many things and teach us a lot. “Even if the world is collapsing, we should come to our office and do our work in a due manner,” he used to say with his kind smile. The editorial office of “168 Hours” expresses deep condolences to Herbert Baghdasaryan’s relatives and the photographers of “Photolur” agency. We had the honor to be in daily contact with him, talk to him and listen to his wise advice and humor. He was always ready to help us with his advice and any information, but when we would ask him to give an interview, he smiled kindly and said, “It’s not time for an interview yet, it is too early…” Herbert Baghdasaryan predicted that the age of powerful people would end soon and it would already be the time for intellectual people.
