On Saturday (12:30 AM) a group of people from a dark colored car (BMW model) took a shot at NA deputy Hakob Hakobyan’s car (candidate under majority system in Precinct 19). Fortunately there was no one in the car at that moment. Later, at 4:30 a group of people burnt the pre-election headquarters of candidate Susanna Harutyunyan, who is nominated in the same precinct. Both of the candidates accuse non-party member and the former head of the 4th army division, general Seyran Saroyan, of organizing the mentioned incidents. In connection with the incidents, Saroyan says “Hakobyan has done that himself; it was done by his advocates. Also, in Harutyunyan’s case, it was organized by her advocates as well, whose purpose is to advance their position.” Answering this, Hakobyan said “Fools rush in where angels fear to tread. Only foolish people can say that I can shoot at myself”. Later we talked to Seyran Saroyan, who said “Only impolite people can say such things. If he can say such things about a hero and general of the Armenian army that has had so many victories, it means that he is very impolite and is capable of doing anything.”
Yesterday the first instance court of Echmiadzin was hearing the court case brought by candidate of Precinct 19 Hakob Hakobyan (the one from Yerevan) against NA deputy Hakob Hakobyan, who is nominated in the same precinct. Hakob Hakobyan, that brought a court case, is registered in Yerevan and argues the court should consider the registration of Hakob Hakobyan and Susanna Harutyunyan in Precinct 19 as invalid, as they have falsified signatures of their followers to get nominated. The court has sent the signatures for investigation, and today at 4 PM it will declare whether the signatures are falsified or not. Yesterday we found a statement in the web page of the general prosecutor’s office saying that Hakob Hakobyan (registered in Echmiadzin city) is also accused of kidnapping the father of an initiative group member.
