On April 7, deputy head of the CIS election monitoring mission headquarters, Evgeny Sloboda, met with the head of the OSCE election monitoring mission, Boris Frlets, and his deputy Yan Gorvin. During the meeting they discussed issues concerning the principles and methods of organizing their monitoring mission during the upcoming parliamentary elections. The CIS monitors are also going to participate in the CEC meeting on April 8, where the CEC will approve the rules and regulations for providing air time for the parties and blocs participating in the upcoming parliamentary elections. Currently the CIS monitoring mission has 73 accredited monitors, who represent Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, the CIS inter-parliamentary council and the CIS executive committee. To note, on April 5 the CIS monitoring mission opened a mission headquarter in Yerevan to monitor the parliamentary elections of May 12.
