Yesterday it was the deadline for applying for registration to participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections. Three political powers out of the 28 ones that applied for registration have failed to present the necessary documents to the Central Electoral Commission (Hovhannes Hovhannisyan’s “Progressive” party, Vazgen Safaryan’s “Progressive united communistic party” and Arshak Baklachyan’s “Armenian Fatherland” party). By the way, the “Prosperous Armenia”, “Impeachment”, “Legal State”, “ULP” and “Heritage” parties have also presented the documents necessary for registering the candidates nominated by their parties. The CEC will study the mentioned documents and make a decision whether to register them or not within the period of April 2-7. This is when it will be clear whether Samvel Babayan will be registered or not. Anyway, according to our information, Samvel Babayan has been recalled from Precinct 37 on conditions that he will be allowed to participate in the parliamentary elections under proportional system.
