Yesterday Daniel Frid, deputy to the U.S. state secretary, petitioned the Senate not to bring up the bill of recognizing the Armenian Genocide. Speaking at the House of Representatives department of Europe Daniel Frid said that the issue of the Armenian Genocide was a challenge against the American-Turkish relations. He also said that “it might also affect the efforts to develop ties between Turkey and Armenia”. “The U.S. has never rejected or ignored the historical fact that 1,5 million Armenians were massively killed at the end of the Osman empire”, said Daniel Frid.
