In close future the price for internet in Armenia will be decreased by over 60%. This will become possible due to the activity of the second operator of internet of Armenia Fibernet, which starting from April 1 will be providing internet services. In the opinion of the director of the company, Armen Khachatryan the company will provide services through the cable in the framework of Traseca, leased for 25 years. The cable passes through the territory of Georgia and reaches Ayrum, Alaverdi, Vanadzor, Spitak, Gyumri, Armavir, Masis and Yerevan. The strategic partner of the company is the Dutch Links Telecom company, with which a cooperation agreement was signed. In the words of the Minister of Transport and Communication, Andranik Manukyan by this Armenia had only one cable line; now it has the second, which will create a direct connection with Europe and the whole world. Meanwhile the building of the cable with Iran of the company will enable to have the third line. This will become a line providing transition circulation, which will surely develop communication in our country. The Minister also said that “Armentel” applied to the company to buy internet whenever necessary.
