The Food Administration of Canada has called on all consumers to not purchase the “Jermuk” Armenian mineral water.
“The reason for this is because of the arsenic found in the water which may exceed the norm,” based on the information of the Canadian “CCN-Matthews” agency. The warning released by the Food Administration also lists the names and addresses of the Canadian stores and/or companies that import and sell “Jermuk” mineral water.
The Quebec-based “D.A.Arcan.Inc” company which sells the “Jermuk” mineral water has already begun calling back its products. The warning of the Canadian Food Department also refers to the “Jermuk Group” table medicinal mineral water which, according to Canadian sources, is sold around the country. The same department informed that there have been no reports of illnesses by drinking “Jermuk”, but the “arsenic may cause cancer”. Let us recall that the corresponding bodies of the U.S. and Hong Kong had made a call to stop the use of “Jermuk” last week.
