Yesterday the PPA has spread an announcement, which reads, “PPA has constantly been a target for both the government and political forces, which are trying to self-develop in the political field and think that the best way is to belie the PPA. The unprecedented attack against the People’s Party created a lot of anger and discontent among us.” Regarding the statements of the media, according to which Abovyan branch office of PPA has been segregated, PPA answered, “This whole noise out of nothing proves that 1. The government is really concerned and scared that PPA may seriously change the course of Parliamentary elections as PPA has always been an honest party and always with people, 2. PPA is a developed party and strong because there were attempts to destroy the party since the day it was established. 3. PPA is a big party and has branch offices in all regions of Armenia. In this regard we’d like to inform you that during the period of 28.02.07-12.03.07 only person left PPA and 87 joined the party. Most part of the newly recruited members are young men.”
