Although the leadership of the “Alliance” party constantly insist that Samvel Babayan doesn’t have any problems with Armenian citizenship but our sources insist that Babayan’s citizenship issues and therefore his registration as an NA deputy creates serious issues for him. According to our information in this regard he held certain meetings with influential people of President’s staff. He warned them that if his candidature is not registered he’s going to apply to the Constitutional Court. Our sources insist that the chairman of the Alliance is ready to make some serious noise at the Constitutional Court. Our sources believe that Babayan has very good relations with the chair of the Constitutional Court, Gagik Harutyunyan. Let’s remember that on the threshold of Presidential elections 1998 Babayan has always considered Gagik Harutyunyan as an appropriate candidate of President.
