The year of Russian language in Armenia kicked-off on Wednesday at the Armenian-Russian (Slavonic) University. Russian Ambassador to Armenia Nikolay Pavlov presented the rector of the university Armen Darbinyan with a letter of acknowledgment from the Ministry of Education and Sciences of Russia for his effective work in Russian Federation integration. 2007 is declared as year of Russian language worldwide and the event calendar includes conferences, poetry nights, as well as scientific/cultural events.
