At the end of this week RA minister of energy Armen Movsisyan will have a visit to Iran to clarify the exact dates of opening the Iran-Armenia gas pipeline. “We will also clarify whether the pipeline will be opened in March or April” said Mr. Movsisyan to “Azatutyun” radio station. Concerning the Russian part in the gas pipeline the minister said, “We can’t discuss that issue as far as the pipeline is not operated and the guarantee period has not finished”. The minister says that it can happen in 3-6 months, after which only “they can discuss that issue”. According to Mr. Movsisyan, the Iran-Armenia gas pipeline will be an energetic security alternative for Armenia. “In 1-2 years we will be able to import as mach gas from South as from North” he said.
