“By discussing with the Nagorno-Karabakh authorities of the separatist regime and not meeting Azeri community head of Nagorno-Karabakh Nizami Bahmanov, the intermediaries have taken a seriously dangerous path,” announced director of the Political innovations and technologies of Azerbaijan Mubariz Ahmedoghli regarding the OSCE Minsk Group’s first visit to the region this year, according to “RIA Novosti”. According to Ahmedoghli, “last year’s failures made the intermediaries search for additional opportunities and resources” in order to reach a peaceful settlement to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
“The co-presidents were doing everything they could to have the peace treaty signed in 2006, but they didn’t reach their goal. That was most probably what made them hold a meeting with the Armenian Community administration of Nagorno-Karabakh in Stepanakert during their present visit to the region. If the reason for that is the failure of last year, then by doing that, at the end of the year the co-presidents will realize that they made an even more serious mistake in 2007 than in 2006,” said Ahmedoghli.
