As a response to the question of 168-Zham whether the black PR (recent accusations of Artashes Geghamyan) on the threshold of elections wouldn’t harm the reputation of the Armenian army, the Minister of Defense of RA, Serj Sargyan said in his yesterday’s press conference, “I think that the opinion of our people is so positive about our army that regardless of what legends are invented about the Defense Minister, those won’t change the good opinion about the army. Finally people may have to some extent good or bad opinion about the Defense Minister but the attitude about the army will stay positive no matter what. If the army is open for our society, when parents are allowed to talk to their children or go see them, if the army casualties are getting fewer and fewer why would they complain? I don’t think there is any hazard.” To our next question whether he during the elections will resign or go to a short vacation to keep the army far from elections Sargsyan answered, “I cannot predict what the situation will look like at the time. I think I can say for sure. No electoral process can anyhow affect the military.”
