Thirty to thirty five children have been left on the streets due to the sale of real estate for government needs. A New Years’ celebration was organized for the children with help from the OSCE Armenian office. Since December 2005 until now, the Government of Armenia has been returning the 10% income taxes taken from the money paid to the people who gave up their proprietorship right in exchange for the sale of territories in 2002. One of the citizens who suffered losses in the process of the sale of real estate for state needs and head of the “Victims of State Needs” NGO Sedrak Baghdasaryan says that the government’s resolution has flaws and recalls that the money that was stolen at the time is now being compensated with big violations.
