Do Americans still have hopes?

Most probably the “window of opportunities” of resolving the Karabagh conflict is not yet totally closed for the US. This assumption may be made only by analyzing the mildly said praising compliments paid to the president of Armenia and Azerbaijan on the part of well-known American magazines. For example, the “Washington Times” newspaper literally writes the following in its early editions of the current year, “Mr. Kocharyan and Aliev are heroes. By supporting the US efforts they definitely outline the future diplomatic preferences of their countries. Although these politicians are being attacked by rough criticism in their countries they are real political leaders anyway, who are able to conduct peaceful elections.” According to the mentioned US media “both countries have such legislative and pluralistic systems, which wouldn’t even be dreamed of in past.” Besides that it turns out that Azerbaijan and Armenia are dynamically developing countries, where an effective democratic system is formed. Moreover the article mentions that the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia are active supporters of the US in the Middle East and that they are liberalists. And finally, “the US needs to support these courageous nations, which are on the side of the West, especially in the event when both Armenians and Azerbaijani are doing their best to form a flourishing democracy in the region”.

Also, it’s worth mentioning that the author of this article, entitled “the light of hope”, is the former deputy of the Georgian Parliament, Bakuria.
