The police-chief policy of the current Armenian authorities has taken its toll and has incremented to terrorism. On December 20, 2006, head of the Nalbandyan village of the Armavir region of Armenia was killed. The political component has been supreme in all the previous murders and this one was no exception. The gangs patronized by President Robert Kocharyan and Defense Minister Serge Sargsyan pretend to carry out activities for political parties, but what they’re really doing is reaching the level of political terrorism. Their goal is to do away with any dissidents, deepen the feeling of fear among citizens without which it’s impossible for the corrupted authorities to come to power once again. While this is going on, the governmental gangs have started to compete against each other to see who gets the most out of the split of the authorities, in other words, the bigger dose of the shady economy and the corrupted system. The murders committed in a tolerant country go to show that these processes have gotten out of hand and don’t even go along with the regime. The regime can no longer provide more or less normal conditions for the political processes. The natural yet at the same time painful and dangerous consequences are the methods applied by the variety of powers among society. In these kinds of conditions, any promise made by the authorities for legality is hypocritical and any kind of persuasion is unfruitful and meaningless. The removal of the authorities may prevent the terrorism, which is becoming uncontrollable and give guarantees for regulated political processes in Armenia, including for the elections.
