Head of the foreign relations department of Azerbaijani President Aliev’s administration Novruz Mamedov has accused the President of Armenia of the purposeful delay of the Karabakh conflict resolution.
“Armenian President Robert Kocharyan’s announcement about delaying the Karabakh conflict resolution due to the upcoming Armenian legislative elections proves that Armenia is not being honest when it declares that it’s interested in resolving the conflict as soon as possible,” said Mamedov according to day.az.
According to Mamedov, the official Yerevan had asked for a break after the long negotiations in order to analyze the future actions to take, “however, two weeks haven’t even passed and the Armenian president makes this kind of an announcement”.
“It’s clear that the Armenian side is doing everything it can to get time on its side, while the Armenian president wants to make the negotiations subject to his political interests get points for delaying the negotiations due to the upcoming parliamentary and presidential elections in Armenia,” said N. Mamedov.
