Geopolitical conversations

06/12/2006

Politicians and analysts predict that hardly the existing governmental and oppositional political powers may establish pre-election alliances and develop collaboration before the upcoming elections. This prediction concerns mainly those oppositional powers, which have been established in the recent times (such as the “anti-criminal”, “civic disobedience” and “civic initiative” movements). By joining political powers that have different geopolitical and ideological basements those powers aim to reach either local or general political goals. It is not by chance that some political powers have already started negotiating actively on issues concerning the upcoming elections.

We have covered information that Armenian oppositional politicians have started visiting Moscow more frequently. The leader of NT, Aram Karapetyan, and the leader of ADP, Stepan Demirchyan, returned from Moscow recently. It is very interesting what our sources of information have told us: just following the mentioned visit to Moscow the mentioned two oppositional politicians had a meeting with the leader of the RA Liberal-Progressive party, Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, in a café on Tumanyan street. According to our information, these three powers that have quite different geopolitical policies have discussed issues on collaboration during the upcoming elections.
