“I am sure that all what is written in those letters is true. Those letters have been sent to Russia” said the NT leader, Aram Karapetyan, concerning the article published in our previous publication that read about some letters sent to Russia and added that he had read some of those letters as well.
The mentioned letters read about Aram Karapetyan as well and noted that the reputation and image of Aram Karapetyan are not high enough “to create a strong pro-Russian political power”. Nevertheless, Mr. Karapetyan does not pay so much attention to the mentioned letters and says, “I don’t pay much attention to such things. The authors are a group of people that work with certain circles. I know where they sent those letters. Nevertheless, I don’t think that the special services that received those letters are real decision-makers. Furthermore, I know who wrote those letters and I have numerously told them that they shouldn’t dispute politics with the work of special services. I have told them that political decisions are made by the political elite, however, basing on information and analysis presented to them by different institutions. I have always asked them if we are not so serious, why the National security Services and Serj Sargsyan are so curious to us”, says A. Karapetyan, “They don’t allow us appear on TV. Why do they do that if there is no purpose to press people that are not serious? I can’t appear on TV even if I pay money from my own pocket. They have taken everyone on camera in the national press club, but didn’t show my image at all. Even more, they spread information that I am not in Armenia. This is the situation we have now”.
Answering to our note that the authors of the mentioned letters submitted to Russia don’t represent the governmental powers, but are considered to be oppositional powers and are involved in the anti-criminal political movement Mr. Karapetyan said, “I don’t know anyone representing the anti-criminal movement, but I know people that are close to them. I don’t want to speak such things about them, but they have numerously spoken concrete dates of events that they thought would happen and didn’t happen. It is hard to say whether their letters will be considered or ignored. I think they will read those letters, will compare to the information they have. Anyway, note that everything is connected with the authorities. You may not see the connection, but everything is done in financial support, I mean they are doing orders. I don’t see any fair and issue-based analysis in those letters. Otherwise, it is impossible to imagine that everyone is bad, and only one of them is good”, said the NT leader and added, “They are playing a game, which is the following; they are trying to make everyone believe that Aram Karapetyan and the NT are not serious, they don’t have human or material resources, good rating and reputation, which purpose is to undermine this political power”
As for Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, he doesn’t want to believe that still there are people in Armenia that would submit letters “to the Russian king”. “I don’t want to believe that there are people that would write letters to “the Russian king” and try to explain who the bad guy and who the good one is. As a citizen of Armenia and politician it is shameful and humiliating for me. We are citizens of an independent state. We have many problems in our country, people are hungry and feel bad because of these authorities, but it doesn’t mean yet that they should write letters to the Russians and ask them to come and save us. I don’t think it is a political solution or an adequate political process” said Hovhannes Hovhannisyan to us.
Hovhannes Hovhannisyan thinks that such things are very dangerous and advises those “reporters” that all what they are doing is nonsense since the Russian government has more reliable sources of information about the political appearance in our country. “Please note that the Russian government has too many reliable sources of information in Armenia. Besides the Embassy they have officers of special services that are working here freely. From that view Armenia is open for them and they can get correct information about Armenia any time they want. As for such letters, I think those letters are nonsense and they should stop doing such shameful things” says Hovhannes Hovhannisyan.
