It turns out that the Central Bank of Armenia has essentially reduced the burden of the activity of the State Tax Bureau. From now on the STB doesn’t have to bother with supervising certain enterprises. They are guaranteed by the CB and don’t need to be inspected.
We found this out on November 21. It’s when the first president of the CB, Isahak Isahakyan, former Minister of Finances and Economy, Levon Barkhudaryan and current CB president, Tigran Sargsyan gathered to speak in light of the 13th anniversary of the Armenian Dram. It’s natural that besides their memories they couldn’t evade speaking about current issues as well – AMD revaluation and its consequences. Everything started when Barkhudaryan said, “The current process and rates of AMD revaluation are against the process of Armenia’s economic development and priorities. This process is a hard time for exportation and encourages importation.”
It’s natural that Sargsyan wouldn’t quite agree with the mentioned formulation, however he mentioned that he’s glad that Barkhudaryan, being director of a private bank (ARMINVESTBANK), publicly expresses his disagreement about the methods adopted by the government.
As usual and as other statesmen, Sargsyan once again called on the producers to raise the productivity of their activity. As a response to a comment of one of the journalists, who said pure advise doesn’t solve problems, the CB president said they not only advise, they also have a clear strategy for those enterprises, who will leave the black market and enter into a transparent environment of business and efficient management. The CB will help those enterprises to have financial means.
It turns out that the CB knows who does shady business and who doesn’t. “No, we don’t know, who’s in the shade. But we know the ones, who are not in the shade,” mentioned Sargsyan. According to him, the enterprises, which received certain ratings, are not in the shade. Information about these enterprises is displayed on the website of the CB. Thus, those are the companies, which have good management, pay taxes and legally function. Check their ratings (see the table).
Also, 30 other companies applied to join this list. Thus, dear STB associates, if you ever have doubts about the activity of the companies, which are on the list, always remember that the CB trusts them. Maybe you should trust the CB. Stop intending on doing things, save your time and resources. Mutual trust brings to a healthy environment for working.
