Armenia is a risky country

According to the “Azatutyun” radio station, the results of the studies of the “Control Risks” independent consulting company show that half of the countries of the world can’t provide a good business environment. In the 2007 risky business/investment report, Armenia is in the group of average political risks, along with Azerbaijan, Georgia, Russia and Turkey. The experts of the organization describe the situation of Armenia and the rest of the countries in the list the following way: “Foreign investors come face-to-face with problems with state and non-state officials, the long-term investments are not guaranteed and the level of corruption is rather high”. As for security, the situation of Armenia and its neighbors is serious. “Control Risks” classifies those countries among the extremely dangerous countries for doing business. According to experts, “there are a lot of risks for the property of foreign investors and their security” in the countries of this list. The post-Soviet countries where there are ongoing conflicts are included in the list prepared by “Control Risks”, including Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Russia and Moldova. The most dangerous countries for doing business are the Scandinavian countries-Norway and Finland.
