If proven I’ll sue you

By referring to the news recently released by the “Taregir” newspaper, according to which during the 2003 Armenian presidential elections Hayk Babukhanyan went against the Chairman of the “New Times” Party, Aram Karapetyan, by making 97,000 USD by selling the votes of the “Constitutional Right” Union (as a result the votes of Karapetyan decreased by 10%), Karapetyan decided to accuse Babukhanyan three years later. “The information, according to which Babukhanyan worked against me during the 2003 elections, creates grounds for certain rumors because every single news agency comments on those rumors specifically,” as stated in the press release issued by Karapetyan. He claims that during the previous elections, due to the application of a number of fraudulent methods on the part of the government and a few dishonest people, a corrupt deal was closed. As a result the votes, which he gained, were reduced by 10% on behalf of Kocharyan. “The member of the Constitutional Union Board, Gegham Grigoryan was the one to share certain information about illegal financial transfers made in PECs at the end of May. That’s the reason why I couldn’t possibly speak about those violations three years ago. I am not going to bring criminal accusations against Hayk Babukhanyan, who was the head of my headquarters in 2003 elections. But if proven that he was also involved in that process, I’ll have to sue him and demand moral compensation,” mentioned Karapetyan. He pledged that once proven who the ones responsible for this were, they will be charged on a criminal basis. Those who reduced the number of his votes will be strictly punished.
