The Karabagh Defense army (DA) continues to build apartment buildings for the officers of the army. The opening ceremony of one of the apartment buildings took place in the Martuni city. This is the second building constructed for the families of officers of the Martuni region. Commander of the Defense army, general/lieutenant Seyran Ohanyan, head of the regional administration, the mayor of Martuni and residents were present during the ceremony. The Commander congratulated the officers and their families and personally gave them the keys to the apartments. He also said that the state had provided 4.5 million drams in 2005 for the construction of houses for the families of deceased soldiers and 7.5 million drams for the homes for officers; in 2006, 6.5 million drams was spent on the families of the deceased soldiers and 1, 2,000,000 drams on the officers. The one, two and three bedroom apartments of the newly constructed apartment buildings are comfortable and the kitchens are furnished with up-to-date appliances. The building also has a hall for ceremonies.
