Citizen of Georgia, member of “United Javakhk” democratic alliance Vahagn Chakhalyan was released from the national security jail on October 30 on the basis of the RA First-Instance Court’s decision. Chakhalyan was arrested on October 11 for crossing the Armenian-Georgian border illegally. On Saturday the president’s adviser on security issues, Garnik Isagulyan said that he thought Chakhalyan would be released soon. According to our information, V. Chakhalyan had been deported from Armenia for five years. Even though the latter had crossed the border several times before that, however the police hadn’t noticed him.
