According to the press secretary of the Cassation Court of Armenia, 33 citizens had applied to the court a couple of days before the elections to get back their right to vote and they have all been able to get back their voting rights. It is worth mentioning that the three community head candidates are members of the “Nig-Aparan” patriotic union-non-partisan Ruben Hovsepyan-son of Chief Prosecutor of Armenia and honorable president of the “Nig-Aparan” union Aghvan Hovsepyan-, ARF member Gagik Sargsyan and representative of the “Democratic Road” party Ishkhan Arshakyan. Head of the electoral commission of the #6 poll Samvel Yeranyan said that there haven’t been any “serious violations” committed during the elections. However, the community head candidate from the ARF G. Sargsyan announced that the violations were not committed in the polls, in particular different groups have told the voters what to do before entering the polls. Member of the “Democratic Road” party I. Arshakyan said that there have been violations and there is proof. His trustees said that the same person had voted 2-3 times in the same poll at different hours, many people’s names weren’t on the voters’ lists, or the voter simply hadn’t gone to the polls but someone else has voted on behalf of him, the electoral commissions weren’t attentive, etc., but the candidate had a hard time saying whether that was done on purpose or not. Based on the sources of “Azatutyun” radio station, according to S. Yeranyan, the Ajapnyak community head elections of Yerevan were normal, all members of the electoral commissions had signed documents and nobody has expressed his own opinion. Based on the statements of the commission members, here’s how it looks like for the time being: 13,930 votes for R. Hovsepyan, 2416 for G. Sargsyan and 1920 votes for I. Arshakyan. As S. Yeranyan said, the only complaints heard were at the #4 poll where the trusted person of one fo the candidates complained that the voters felt pressured and that there is an accumulation of ballots in the poll. After the warning, S. Yeranyan and head of the Central Electoral Commission Garegin Azaryan, who hadn’t noticed anything peculiar, visited the poll. According to Sargsyan, the elections were “just like the previous ones”. According to him, if voters were more active, then the results would be different. G. Sargsyan doesn’t feel defeated, “because there were many people against me and there were only a hundred minibuses going around. Before, we were in an environment of fear; I didn’t understand what created that environment and what the reason was for that.” I. Arshakyan’s election headquarter officers compared the elections with the 2005 constitutional amendments referendum. None of the community head candidates protested against the results of the elections in the given time. The final results of the elections will be known by Friday, November 3.
