“There were Russian painters at our house; we were painting and talking. They told me: “Do you love us a lot?” I answered: “If we were able to not love you, then we wouldn’t. We have no other choice,” said deputy of the ARF faction Alvart Petrosyan. Petrosyan also added: “If we dedicate ourselves to them, then they’ll eat us up”. She believes that Armenians have to free themselves from the complex of having a “big brother” and raise their level of “self-esteem”.
