Based on the proofs of the criminal investigation of the Chief Prosecution of Armenia regarding the illegal circulation of drugs, it has turned out that Andranik Volodya Stepanyan was accused of illegally acquiring drugs with the purpose of using them in October 2006 and has taken an overdose of the “Apion” drug without the permission of doctors. He has purchased one gram of that drug for ten dollars from Samvel Avetisyan, who is a resident of the Kajaran city. Avetisyan has received the drug from Martik Gasparyan from Agarak city with the purpose of selling it. Gasparyan was arrested on the night of October 24 while he was taking an overdose of the drug (nearly 500 grams). Police also found 2.1 grams of dark brown drug “looking like cocaine”. They also found 25.5 grams of the “Apion” drug in Gasparyan’s “Kamaz” brand name truck, 4.7 grams of a “marijuana” in his garage. It turns out that Gasparyan has illegally received and transferred these drugs to Armenia from Iran. Throughout the course of April and October 24, Gasparyan has brought and sold nearly 3.5 kilograms of the “Apion” drug to Avetisyan. Stepanyan, Gasparyan and Avetisyan have all been arrested.
