The collection of wines belonging to French president Jacques Chirac was sold for 1 million Euro during a two-day auction. The president had started collecting the wines throughout the years 1977 and 1998. He had collected 5,000 types of wines. It is worth mentioning that Chirac had not purchased these wines with his own money, but rather with the money provided by the state. Therefore, the money received from the auction will go straight to the government.
