Which is your homeland?

Everyone in Armenia knows that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the country is also a citizen of the United States of America. Before becoming a citizen of Armenia, Vartan Oskanyan had applied to the U.S. government. As a rule, this great country approves such applications late. It’s not clear as to whether or not the U.S. took Oskanyan’s U.S. passport. There has never been a public announcement about that. But what is clear is Oskanyan applied to become a citizen of Armenia and gave up his U.S. citizenship, while the members of his family are still U.S. citizens and are not planning to change that status. Perhaps this is what reminded the Foreign Minister about the outlook for developing Armenia for another 100 years while being in a blockade. What’s interesting is that Oskanyan doesn’t deny the fact that he will run for president during the upcoming 2008 Armenian presidential elections. This is worrisome. In any case, the U.S. is just as important for Oskanyan as Armenia and let’s not forget that his wife and children are U.S. citizens. The Armenian does everything for his children and Vartan Oskanyan is no exception. In this case, whatever V. Oskanyan does for his family turns out that he is doing that for his family living in the U.S. and finally-the U.S. Let’s not forget that Vartan Oskanyan already has a final landing and in that case, Armenia is not that important to him.
