From now on, one must get permission from Turk special services in order to be able to climb Mount Ararat. This was the decision made after a group of American students of Armenian origin climbed Mount Ararat and stuck the Armenian national flag on top.
According to the Turkish “Marmara” paper, the mountain climbers will not be allowed to do any scientific research. They must inform Turkish authorities about their plans to take field trips to climb the mountain and get permission. Besides that, the people who wish to climb the mountain need to have their accessories checked.
