According to “Azatutyun” news agency, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs “feared and doubted” the bill passed by the French Senate about the penalty for denying the Armenian Genocide. “Unfortunately, instead of contributing for peace and stability, Armenia and the Diaspora still don’t play a constructive role in the midst of the current situation at hand in the Southern Caucasus region. Taking into consideration the fact that this can later move on to the Senate, we call on the French parliament to revise this issue adn think ahead,” as stated in the announcement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.
